“It’s about security and stability. People talk about survival and they immediately think; food, water, shelter. So they get their supplies, they build their shelter and think that’s it. I’ll be secure. I’ll be safe. But they key to survival is adaptation. Adapting the mind to accept your new reality. Psychologically speaking, the only way to survive is to establish a New Normal. Routine. Structure. Something to form the pillars. Why we bother to fight for survival. Without that, all the tinned food, water, blankets, shelter are irrelevant, whatever’s out there won’t matter because you’ve just become your own undoing.”
